How is the sun setting on our natural world? This piece (working title) explores this question through the repeated symbol of plastic water bottles. These bottles distort and package various ecosystems, trashing the ocean as a result. This work is influenced by Refik Anadol’s pieces like Black Sea and Artificial Realities: Coral.
Final Portfolio
For my portfolio, I wanted to explore the ideas of ecological degradation and hybridized landscapes using all of my own photographs. I am drawn to art that transforms the sense of reality, and I hope these pieces make you think about alternative realities and if aesthetically pleasing images might have something more sinister happening beneath the surface.
